Six French workers of Zoe’s Ark have been on a hunger strike since last night. They were arrested in Chad for trying to fly 103 children to Europe where they stood to make a million euros by placing them with French and Belgian families.

The workers say they thought the children had fled Darfur and had no parents. Others say they come from towns near Darfur and were taken from their homes.

Even Unicef says they were not following proper guidelines.

If they are found guilty of kidnapping, they face 20 years of forced labour.

Many transport workers are already back at work. The rest should return in the next two days.

Sud Rail, which is not talking to the government, will probably still be on strike.
